I don't own a Tak...that give me plenty of time to research and find one by March. I'm not sure what "getting my helicoids greased" means, but I need to work this in to some conversations at work
All the 50s are great. The f2 version can be picked up very cheaply.

Hey now, we are a family friendly forum!

I did a SIC with both an M42 SuperTak 105mm and an M42 135mm . My copies aren't exactly walk around lenses Both have sweet spots where they deliver some amazing results with relatively close subjects, but neither would let me focus on things at maximum distance. Both are collecting dust in my shelf if you want to try either out, but you'd need an adapter.

I'm lacking a 50 macro. Maybe I'll keep an eye out for one of those.

Takumarch sounds cool. My only option really (since I’m sticking with K-mount lenses) is my Takumar Bayonet 135/2.5 - and that’s a hard lens to say no to. So I think I’ll be in.

I have the Macro Takumar 50/4 with the preset and 1:1. Very cool lens but not so common and more expensive than the Takumar 50/4 macro which is 1:2.

Little roundup for me, with the SMC-A 50mm f/2.8 Macro.
It is one of those lenses that makes it very difficult to take a bad photo. A very natural field-of-view, sharpness up the wazoo, the ability to focus very closely, very little in the way of aberrations.
The only slight let down for me, really, is the hexagonal aperture. It's something I don't mind from time-to-time, but am not fond of featuring in every shot. I much prefer rounded apertures for macro work, where the shapes are a lot less distracting.
A couple of favourites from the month for me:

(The noise-reduced version of this is perhaps my favourite of the year, above)

I'm sorry that my participation fizzled out mid-month, but I had a nice time with the Sears 55/1.4. I've used it a lot, just never officially as a "Single", so that's an accomplishment! The handling and rendering are lovely, although since it is an old screw mount, I did miss the auto-aperture feature of more modern lenses, and it's quite a bit bigger than some of my classic little 50s. The bokeh machine made finding fun shots easy, which is a nice relief for a dark season. Some of my faves.

It was nice spending the last few months of 2021 working on getting back in the photo habit and I hope I can keep it going through 2022 for a real, complete Project 365. :-) Happy New Year, friends!
