For general purpose work I agree. The addition of a Raynox or small automatic extension tube is a helpful addition for walkabout use with no specific goals - but for portrait use I don’t need the shorter focus distance, particularly since most of my use is on APSC which makes it a tighter look at the same distance. Mine is more likely to get used in general purpose mode than portraits just due to photographic opportunities.

I understand that usage Recently, and rarely, I've asked a few strangers if they minded if I took their picture, and they obliged. One must be observant, and able to read body language but I have founf it to become easier to find willing subjects the more I do it. I encountered a tremendously photogenic and obliging subject last month, I only wish I'd had the K-1 and FA 77mm at hand, but the DA 40mm LTD on the K-1 performed admirably. Even though in daylight my ISO was far too high as I'd been indoors minutes before, Topaz Denoise did a great work in reducing the noise

Great compilation of shots. Great idea too. How did you do it? Is there an easy tool for the IT retarded like me?

Thanks to you both.

I prepared the files in Lightroom, and used the slideshow module (2.5sec per frame with .5 sec transition). I made the opening and close slides in Photoshop, and added as a part of the slide show rendering.
I exported the slideshow to video.
I added the video file to Adobe Premier Elements, and used some royalty free music and sound effects.
Outputted to HD format and uploaded.
