I feel like there's a high percentage of black and white shots in this thread lately. Let's bring back some color! I much prefer street shots in color. It portrays life more realistically, without adding the mood changing mono.

Yea, I was feeling brave that day and often the way I get some of these really close shots, is I simply get to about 8-10 feet or so of my subject and drop to a knee, compose and shoot. Most of the time, folks will automatically smile, but every now and then, I get some odd reactions as in this one. After the shot, I hand them my card and they automatically feel better and at peace and I am on my way

Javier, you live near a photo frenzy hot spot. The 'Need 4 bucks for tampons' is one of the most extreme street shots I have ever seen. I absolutely love it! I also like the one of the homeless guy death staring the guy in the red shirt. I might as well tick LA off the map.. I feel like I have been there with your shots over last year. Well done sir.

Thanks, Javier. Finally some color in here to brighten up the New Year. That tampon sign just wouldn't be the same in black and white.

Your a great curator of LA street images B/W and color. I think we all go through phases and moods and some images show better in B/W and others in color.
