LOVE this shot. Great expression and context!

This one suggests some connection between the two that probably isn't there, but I like it anyway.

Wow! They have the SAME expression, and amazingly similar faces. That's just... creepy!

Great stuff, as always, Javier!

This thread is huge!!!

Javier: what sort of set up, camera/lens, do you "most of the time" use for your street shots?

Thanks JP,
In 2011, I have been using basically three set ups.
My most used in this order
Pentax K20D with the DA35F/2.4...
Nikon D7000 with the sigma 30F/1.4
Canon AE-1 with FD28 or 50

More here. If you look through my Flickr, the exif is easy to view as is the camera model and lens.

Thanks javier

Javier: great shots you have there as well!

I was actually quite dumbfounded that you are still using the Ol 'K20D! I remember quite well some posts on another site where you were (still are?) posting some shots taken with the K20D.

I have always found street photography very interesting, intimate sort of mode, but I have never actually "dared" taking shots right there facing people going about their personal business and you seem to have quite a knack of doing it, along with some other very good photographers on this thread.

Congrats for the excellent shots and cheers to your daring style!

To the other very good/great photograhers on this thread: keep this thread alive because I cannot seem to get tired of seeing the pics!

Cheers to you Javier and to all of you's!!

JP

P.S.: finally got to see the face of jgredline!

To put it in context. I have a Nikon D300s, D700, D7000 and the 2 K20D's...I also have an LX-5 and Fuji X100. I have some of the best lenses Nikon has to offer...The Nikon 14-24, 24-70 and 70-200F/2.8 VR lenses as well as all the Pentax LTDs and still I use the K20D most with that cheap plastic DA35F/2.4 lens that takes killer shots...I did have a K-7 but sold it as the noise was just a killer...Hated the camera and that is why I never bought a K-5...My K-7 experience left me with a bad taste in my mouth....Caused me to go Nikon, but could not give up the K20D.

If you read through some of the comments on my flickr, you would be amazed at how often I hear things like...''wow and with a pentax'' or other sarcastic remarks...So that in itself gives me reason to use my K20D's...I love em...

I stayed with the K20D after seeing the output from the K-7. But I assure you the K-5 is a HUGE upgrade. Not that the K20D isn't still a great camera, I'm just saying - the K-5 isn't the K-7...
