Are you using some sort of noise reduction on these?

they had quite a bit of noise so i tried to salvage them. first not so good, second was a bit better.may be the conversion to bnw as the original seems much cleaner? opinions?? they were taken at 9-930pm at 1600 iso and f2.4. my first attempts at night street shots started last week.

crop from original as shot. any tips on night street shooting are most welcome

Can't help you with your night shots, but that 'smoothing' has an interesting effect. The shot of the couple on the park bench has a 3-D look to it, imo.

Leave the noise and add grain to them. I would bet they would look heaps better.

i liked it for that reason too. all part of the learning process. it's a different game shooting at night. i went out again tonite for a few more but the threat of walking 1.5 miles home in the rain sent me back early.
