I know street photography purists look down on pictures of street performers. Makes no sense to me, they're part of what makes the street what it is.

Javier another great set. On composing, is it true dedicated photographers always carry two bodies?
On the last - sad if true.

Thanks. I always carry one body and a single prime lens. What ever I decide to shoot that day, I make it work.

Personally, I love shooting street performers, but I do try and capture their very essence. In fact next week I will be shooting the Hollywood street performers for one of the Hollywood news publications and portfolios.

One from the super tak 135.
Hardest part is focusing in a fast moving crowd.

It's like shooting fish in a barrel. If a teenager with an iphone is standing next to you, actually.. anyone with an iphone, shooting the same thing at roughly the same angle then the chances of walking away with a good photo are pretty damn slim. I don't condemn shooting street performers but making good photos out of them is hard and you have to consider that the subject is posing in a way. Most street photographers will say that shooting the crowd is where the action is at and i'm a firm believer in that.
