Thanks for the positive remarks kenafein. I don't mind the lens/TC combo at all it's just that I hardy use the lens without the TC these days. That's telling me that I want a longer lens but they cost a fortune for Nikon.

Yeah, have you considered the Sigma? It's slightly less costly(5k, yikes). I don't know if the old version is even worth looking at, but there's one on eBay for <$1200.

Interesting sign in the 'Cut' photo!

I guess he doesn't want photos taken of his knives in case someone tries to copy them.

If he is a knife maker with his own designs, I don't blame him a bit - too easy to make a copy from a photo.

I took this shot at a park in lower NW Portland with my Hasselblad 500cm and 80mm C T* lens. Looking down into a waist level viewfinder can be inconspicuous as Im not sure some people know that I am lining up a photo. I watched this girl move around for a bit until she "posed" for me. She might have been a bit curious as to what I was doing, but she knew the score once that loud Hass shutter tripped....at least the photo had already been taken
