I've only started getting the hang of it. The weather and my schedule have conspired to prevent me from having much of a chance to use it. So far I like it, but it is slow, a little clunky and the relatively slow lens and lack of shake control are limiting. It won't replace my K 5 II s.
I heard they were slow (on a nice day though the colours pop) I can manager the wider (ie 18mm) fuji at f 2.0 1/17 for the most part but in part your form is better when using a vf as opposed to zombie shooting
I have ois on the 2 zooms but they are so slw that the benefit is mainly in shooting at the same iso as i would shoot the 1.4 lenses or steadying the length on the zoom (which I've barely used - a beach trip in order to see if any birds are left about (or insane windsurfers)

A few shots taken during my holiday travels, which included a visit to Boston.

its not the first time i've seen this zombie expression but you know what not everybody needs to hold a camera without a vf that way and just for the record i never used a vf nor i intend to

this doesnt look like 'zombie shooting' to me

and btw since i began using a wide angle lens i dont miss image stabilisation because i can get below the 1: FL rule at wich point you're dependent of subject movement anyway

this was shot at 1/13 sec oh and guess what a situation where a vf would been useless as opposed to you know what? a tilting screen!

having an XT1 I can't knock a tilting screen. and yes wa/uwa reduces need for IS (I wish i had is sometimes though) . my point was that the tripod tou form with your arms and body when shooting with either a traditional SLR Vf (or subtitute EVF) or a Rangefinder is a more stale method of shooting and willl give better results in general. the tilting screen use is sort of like using a WLF on a medium format (or asahiflex for that matter) it works and with the correct method is also stable. holding a screen out at arms length in front of your face will never be ideal though (ie zombie) - the first shot you post a red herring the shutter speed was 1/1250 - it is making up for any poor form. try shooting one handed like that at 1/30 with say a 56 1.2 lens attached - you will get blur - probably somewhat recoverable in some software. OTOH you would probably get away with it on an 18mm
Technique exists to give predictable results. It doesn't mean you have to always shoot that way. Heck with my DA14 i frequently have shot one handed and blind to the view because i know the AOV on the camera and can make educated guesses for shots and crop/fix /balance in post while capturing things I'd otherwise miss. way way way back a friend of mine shot his first big selling shot at Kent state. he was running away to a safer area he shot with a 20mm on trix at fr zone focused and the shot was from the camera being held and fired behind him while he (and others)ran . Every year some newspaper or another worldwide picks up his shot and uses it in a story. he had no idea what he shot until he was in the darkroom later that day though

Nice ones, Eddie! I've been fooling around with my newly acquired Sigma dp2 Merrill
Y'know, I'm surprised we've never run into each other, given we often seem to be in the same section of the city.

Anyway, a shot from the summer, since I've mainly been shooting film recently and still haven't gotten my latest rolls back. Can't recall if I've posted this one before or not:
