Originally posted by dlh I thought that's a great picture, but I've got a couple of observations (purely a matter of personal taste, so perhaps meaningless outside my own world):
1. I like the woman on the right - she's enjoying life as she works; but the woman on the left is merely impatient to get her package and scowling for apparently no good reason. I'd crop the whole left-hand third out of it, perhaps along the post that's just to the left of the farthest bowl of chili paste (or whatever that is).
2. The woman on the left is in focus, but the woman on the right is not. Too late now, but perhaps a wider depth of field would be better for that kind of shot.
Feedback and constructive criticism is always welcome.
I think the women on the right was probably scowling at the farang pointing a camera in her direction while was I was waiting to capture the money/curry paste hand over. The lady on the left was amused by the situation and was getting a ribbing from some of the nearby stall holders.
I agree the focus is not spot on, that lens isn't the best at the edges especially wide open. Light was a challenge, I was already at 3200 iso and f4 so stopping down to increase the depth of field was going to be a problem
Is this what you had in mind?
