Never done one of these before! I think I'll do the Sigma 50mm F2.8 Macro.

Welcome! A macro lens is always a good choice, just about anything looks interesting if you get close enough...

I'll promise to try and cut down on computer pics. I think I finished my build this morning after first visualising and documenting that vision 6 months ago. I have been waiting on parts to arrive in the Marketplace (case), waiting on bits to be built to order (radiators and cabling), even silly bits like the screw inserts take a couple of weeks to arrive and one or two accidents almost made me give up watercooling full stop (brand new reservoir leaked, Leakshield vacuum pump fell off the table, smashed and I had to buy a new one) but its done now for another few months at least (September / November = new CPU, GPU, Motherboard & Memory) -

+ a K55/1.8 is probably not the best for product shots. Time to get some numbers up on the K-3iii, it feels like a gazelle compared to the K-1.

Late start for me as well due to busy weekend ahead, still sorting if it will be the 35-210 A or the DFA 24-70 2.8, the weekend will decide

Thanks! The aperture lever started sticking in a grindy way about an hour after I posted when I went out to take day one pics . I don't want to do a different macro as I know I'll be replacing it this month and will want to get some time with the replacement.

I saw a few other people doing 55mm, so I figure I'll jump on that. Switching to the SMC Pentax 55mm F2, that will make me take some pictures of something other than bugs too.

Sunday was a complete wash. 13 hours in the OR doing hip fractures and other trauma. Now I'm traumatised

Although tempted to pull out, I'll try to get back in the saddle this afternoon.

Interestingly, when checking the metering mode in the EXIF in Flickr, it was recorded as Other - rather than than highlight-weighted. It appears that the K-3IIIis a little too advanced even for the mighty SmugMug! ; )

It correctly recorded the metering mode as multi segment when I used it but highlight-weighted isn't yet on the radar.

Have saddled. Can't attest to the quality of the images in the evening twilight, but hey.
