Sorry. I'm just satisfied with what I got. I'll add DFA* primes when I have money to spare and they get released, but other than that I really see no point in getting other lenses.

Me, too. I picked up 4 lenses in total this month.

I may have picked up a couple of things over the last couple of months. A 645D with D FA645 55/2.8 and then I had to have some more lenses to go with it, A645 200/4, A645 80-160 and A 75/2.8. And I saw a very cheap Raynox 250 which is something I've wanted for ages. The 645 lenses will have to wait until it is a bit lighter before I single them.

I bought the A 50/2.8 macro, F 28/2.8 and... FA 31 limited I'm eager to try each of them but I guess that the 31 will go first. And I keep asking myself: do I really need the DA*55, having the F 50/1.4?
AS someone who owns both the DA* 55 and the FA 50/1.4 I would say maybe. It depends on how much you use the lens and for what purpose. In my use, the 55 is better wide open than the FA. The weather resistance (AW) is also nice. But the fa 50 is small and easy to toss into a bag just in case.

yes, you do - I love my DA*55... so much so, I sold off all my other AF 50 & 55 lenses (except the macro)...

the rendering is just delicious....

I'm really liking it. I'm still getting to know it but it produces some fabulous looking pictures. And it's not as big and heavy as everyone makes out...

The AW and quick shift features would be nice to have but I don't think I use this focal length that much. I used to own the FA version and it was a very poor performer wide-open. Now I own the F one and it's better (I know they share the same optical formula, so maybe I was just lucky to get a better copy). And indeed, the size is its advantage.

Ok, so a "yes" vote I thought a bit about it but I guess the DA 55 needs to wait for another LBA up-and-down cycle (meaning: to sell some lenses before buying new ones).

I don’t think I’ve ever read any comparison reviews that suggest the F 50 is better or worse than the FA 50. I would expect copy variation. The wide open f1.4 mtf data I’ve seen suggest that the 50/1.4 lenses are pretty low resolution.

It does make the K1 and K3iii seem tiny when I go back to them though.

I really need to get to know my K-3 III better. The UI is very different from previous Pentax cameras, and it still feels quite foreign on the too-infrequent occasions I use it.

January seems like a good way to start what may become a 365 project. I'll start with the easiest of choices to get me in the swing - the HD Pentax-DA* 1:2.8 16-50mm ED PLM AW.

Still thinking about the lens choice for January. Leaning towards the 31mm again. No new gear for me this Christmas, still saving for something. Not sure yet.

just like I did with the Twelve Months of Takumars this year, I have a list of lenses to run through for 2023:

SMC A 24/2.8
Vivitar 24/2.8
Sigma 30/1.4
SMC 30/2.8
SMC 50/1.4
SMC 50/1.2
Tamron 63B (180/2.5)

and then the roster of 645 lenses:

FA 35/3.5
FA 45/2.8
SMC A 55/2.8
SMC A 75/2.8
SMC A 120/4 Macro
SMC A 150/3.5
SMC A 200/4

plus anything I pick up along the way next year.....
