Now that I own a DFA 24-70mm, I am considering getting the DFA 70-210 since I am so impressed with quality of image that the recent DFA series seems to enable.

Not sure about May ATM. I've been weirdly tired this week and missed last few days simply for being to lazy to shoot. Getting back in shape after Covid seems to be taking longer than I thought. But if I find my mojo before May 1st, I'll join the game.

Tracking shows the lens is in Chicago today. Just 3 hours away, but still shows a delivery of May the 4th .

So what will it be? FA 77mm, or something in 50mm?

Today I used my original K-3 and my HD DA 35 Macro. I am thinking that may be my choice. The SMC FA 77 and HD DA 70 are still in consideration.

I’m afraid my father in law is back in the hospital. I’m unclear what this will mean to participation. I am also unclear if I want to limit myself to a single lens within the constraints of my time this month - the daily group is another option. But for the moment I’m still trying to be involved this month.

The DA 21 has also been making eyes at me…

Look back at it with glee, I've used that lens for SIC and it's a a great all around choice.

My hesitation is that it lends itself to wider aspect photos that might work well in b&w in the right context (downtown in my city when I’m at work for example) but will be harder to make compelling photos in the mundane neighborhood setting I’ll mostly be able to use it in. The DA 35 macro on the other hand offers the ability to snip out small subjects within the mundane and examine them more closely offering a lot of perspectives that might be compelling in b&w. Or they may just be boring closeups of things. Lol. I’m going to play with the 21 today. Let’s see what my original (non-monochrome) k-3 does with the lens.

With 30+ lenses this choice is hard.

I think you will enjoy the DA 21mm, good luck!

Your second comment is part of the reason I am moving towards fewer but better quality lenses.

Lol. I hear you. It makes less of a difference in some ways in normal shooting. It’s just the idea of a new (to me) camera and trying to fit it into my brain.

May's lens will be a Miranda 28-70mm. I bought it from Dixons (remember them, old people in the UK?) about 40 years ago to use with my K1000. It was reasonably OK on film, but works very well on digital.

I decided not to participate in the end. I think film is great for my personal documentary project that I do when I visit my home city, but for everyday "force yourself out of home with camera" kind of shooting it is worse choice possible.

So have fun, I will follow what you do and hopefully see you next month if I get K-3/3 back (I kinda doubt it, but well).

I leave for work in two hours, whichever lens is on the K-1 is the lens I'm using for SIC.

I’m going to join in.
It’s been a while since I hopped on the Single-In challenge, but I’m keen.

This time it’ll be the Super-Takumar 50mm f/1.4 (8E) pasted on my Sony A7iii.

I can’t guarantee perfect participation, but I’ll sure as heck try.

I'm feeling better and I've got some shots today with DFA*85, so I'll try to hang on the entire month. Expect a lot of windsurfing related shots again.
