Thank you Javier! Made that one during a conference on Pentecost. It was quite warm, so many of the visitors wanted ice creams, or sodas

Yes, it's a kind of festival, with more than 50.000 visitors from all kinds of churches, from Friday to Monday at Whitsun, with services and workshops, and a lot of music.

This is the last one made during these days: it's a picture of one of the man of the film crew, with his subject on a big screen. Both are working, on different levels .

#143 Paramedic

We had a somewhat strange and sad week, last week. Seven years ago my father had a stroke. After a period of revalidation, he was able to walk again, although he is paralised at his left hand side. Last week he had another stroke, and we had to take him to the hospital. He hardly could talk, and he was inable to walk. During the intake - it took four hours! - I had to wait , while my mother was with him. I brought my camera, and I could make some pictures of the paramedics and their ambulances.

I hope my father will recover more or less. Yesterday, he walked at my mothers hand to the toilet, and he was sitting next to his bed, reading a book. We are very thankfull that he seems to recover so quickly. What this week will bring is uncertain, but we have faith in the future, and we believe he is in the hand of our heavenly Father.

Here my photo for today, to honor those who spend their lives helping others.

I'm so sorry to hear about your father, Rense. Hope he recovers fully. Brain traumas take a long time to heal, but it sounds like he's made a good start.
You're a photographer, for sure! Even in the middle of a crisis you had the presence of mind (or was it sheer instinct?) to pack a camera along for the ride. I swear you'll put your camera on self-timer to have it take a photo of you as you take your final breath...

Sorry to hear about your father, Rense. It sounds like he got the right drugs fast, though - I understand that's very important in recovering from a stroke. Best wishes to him and your family. My father was in hospital a few years ago, and it was pretty stressful, but it helped to have family and friends around to share the worry. I hope he makes a good recovery and can go home soon. That's a nice portrait of the paramedic, I'm deeply impressed that you brought your camera along! I bet taking pictures is a stress-reliever, too.

It is really ridiculous how quickly I learned to trust Pentax's SR! With the film camera I used before, the P30n, I always tried to stay away from 1/60", but with the K20d it is just so easy to go to 1/15" or even 1/10"! I know, for this photo I used a short lens, but even with longer lenses Pentax made the circumstances in which I can make photos much broader...!
