The skiing on 'liquid' snow is excellent!

(warning: Not taken w/a Pentax - hope your screens don't revolt )

My wife and I rode cross town back to our apartment as the blizzard of Christmas started sticking. I was surprised how well my bontragers handled in the snow. I thought my wife's armadillo tires would be better, but she was getting some spin on starts off the red-lights (I'm sure my double her weight factored in some too tho )

And yes, the Shimano roller brakes worked equally poorly in the snow as they do in the dry.

And here's me thinking that it's just too cold to leave the house when it's 15C/59F

You guys have great bike pictures.

Matt, your wife's bike looks chilly!

Ivoire, looks like a great place to spend the winter. Looks like your bike is one of the Hummer relatives. How do you like it?

Oula, you continue to find excellent sad bike photos.

Javier, you must have the largest selection of bike pictures. Great work.

M8o, wonderful winter bike shot! I'm amazed your 'tragers worked so well in the snow. I had to swap my Conti Town & Country tires for studded snow tires, elsewise it was a case of slip-sliding away.

A nice winter ride:

I love riding but rarely do in winter (too dark when i come to work making the ride a little hazardous) I admire anyone who does though. this spot often has a bike there as there aren't enough racks

Hahaha... what a great scene there Eddie.
Tamia, what a wonderful composition. Rock'n ride there; love those tires! I won't carry and allusions that if I were to try to ride in those conditions, my stock treads would be inadequate. The 1/2"-1" over blacktop was about the limit they could handle.
RichardS, gotta wear layers... My best realization was my fine hand stitched cashmere lined leather gloves would fit inside my larger insulated winter gloves.

Just some bike on the street. A nice color for bar tape I thought.

My new ride

Had to get the kids out on rides with me and the Xtracycle seemed the best option. Commuting on this now, and picking up both kids on the way.
