Love that backlight in the tree Paul!

I watched a fat bike race today on the local trails. I don't have a fat bike so I skied.

Thanks Matt - love the fatbike shots (esp the frozen face & the awesome hand/arm covers!)

I was wondering about those hand-arm covers, too. Are they commercially available, does anyone know?

We have something similar up this way (where the HIGH today is supposed to be -1), as follows.....

Bar Mitts Handlebar Mittens

(And no - I don't work at Erik's - just shop there.) ;-)

Thanks for the comments! That's a fun event. It was -8 F at the start so those over mitts seemed to be the thing to have!
As pointed out they are commercially available. I have also seen them for kayaking and they go over the paddle shaft in the same way as the handlebars.

Thanks for the link on these, Tim. Erik's Bar Mitts look quite toasty.

I've seen the kayaking ones, Matt. They use hook-and-loop tabs to hold them in place over the paddle shaft so you can slip your hands in and out without having to wear them. One of the benefits of them is that there's no extra fabric around the paddle shaft to make control hard. The originals (I believe they were originals) were called Pogies. I was thinking of making something like that for my winter bike.

Cool, there's a bike thread! I did not know that. I walk past this old lady every time I leave my house (K1000, Takumar 35mm/3.5, Velvia 100F).

I like this one: it makes you wonder, is the dog out for a run with his cyclist owner, or is he out chasing after the cyclist...

Is this a "selfie"? Is the dog hungry?

My husband nearly lost an eye because a dog brought him down when cycling.

Thanks. I made a jig to hold the camera out there and used a cable release. That's my neighbor's dog tagging along and he does get a little excited and wants to take a nip at your leg now and then. I think it was on his mind when I snapped the shot.

I'd be interested in knowing how you made that jig. It's a great idea resulting in a great shot!

I attached the jig to the bike frame using existing attach points on the front fork and dropouts for the fender and a rack. The camera was an old-school Pentax 67 by the way. So it was a sturdy jig!! Here I mounted it to the back of the bike.
