'89 Peugeot Mont Blanc road bike with original brakes and gears. Bought it couple of years ago from original owner who sold it to make room for new bike as it had been idle for 17 years.

If I had terrain like that I would use my mountain bike but here it is a mud festival all year and I don't like getting dirty! Lucky you!

We do get some mud and even call part of the spring thaw "mud season" but it was a quick and early one this year due to low snow levels.
But most of the spring, summer, and fall the riding is great and I ride this right from my house. Of course that's a trade-off too because we often have to drive to the next town (1.5 hrs) to do stuff like go to Home Depot or get our Toyota serviced. But I like to ride a lot and only go to Home Depot if I must so it works out ok for me!

I'd prefer to live next door to beautiful mother nature rather than some shops, and thinking of moving out of the city so I can hike or ride my bike right from the house. Cycling home here shortly and I need to ride on the footpath because of the crazy drivers in their metal coffins!!!

Lucky you and don't bother with the home improvement stuff 😃

Feeling guilty

I have ordered an ebike conversion kit After a life spent pedaling my legs now find it difficult to get me up inclines or very far from home but the thought of not going out for a bike ride was too awful to contemplate so I am converting my favorite road bike so i can still have that special pleasure that comes with being out on a bike.

Right but I need to go somewhere like that for a new washing machine or freezer every now and then.

Yes, I feel the same way. It's a good life even if not always convenient.

We had this done for my wife, and I'll happily get a conversion for my gravel grinder when that time comes, too. I don't want to be 'that guy' holding everyone else up, and I love riding too much to consider giving it away.

Great riding close to home yesterday after skiing powder the day before. I love spring in the Rockies!

More trail opened in our local areas recently. Nice riding but it's looking like it could be a very dry summer.
