Google Higgins Airfield Bamaga. WWII airfield built in the 1940s.This plane crashed on approach killing 5 or 6 crew and passengers in 1944.Yes it is an early DC3.

I took my first road ride of the season last night and it felt great.
Still lots of snow around but dry roads and 50 degrees made it pretty nice until the sun went behind a mountain and it got chilly. As I was riding between (plowed) fields of cattle and their newborn calves I saw a bald eagle, a coyote, and countless deer. Nice night.
I'm considering a triathlon in the month and need to get some saddle time in if I'm going to go for it! I just need to keep my feet warmer next ride but besides that it felt good.
Phone pic from the ride with the bald eagle. The coyote jumped out from behind one of those snow banks right after I put the phone away or I could have gotten the eagle and coyote in the same shot.
