I agree. When I saw the shot, I thought to myself, "Excellent high key work"! (Well, almost high key). The exposure was for the face and the resultant over-exposure of the background resulted in splendid isolation of the subject.

Thanks Guys. I guess I am too picky about skies. Blown out skies really bug me. I have tossed so many good pictures because of blown skies.

This was the first frame of a fresh roll of film. This is what happens when you try and squeeze 26 frames out of a roll of 24.

I had been shooting outside and forgot to change the aperture. I still like the colors and reflections.

I'm pretty sure these are Tundra Swans. I went to this spot to get shots of these guys but the only ones I found were pretty far away and they were peacefully swimming around. All of a sudden two flew and I hurriedly started shooting. I got about 6 or 7 shots off and only after I got home did I see that I'd blown the Swans out. I should have known this would happen but it came off so fast I couldn't keep up. This is primarily the reason I've kept my day job and also because it seems more and more people are down on bird shots:-).

And here I was thinking you were going to point out what seems to be dropping out of the swan's butt

Man, that bird was full of it :-). This is a healthy crop and gives a bit of example why I wanted the K20D paired up to the DA* 300/4. Also shot at ISO800. If I could get my act together I think I have a nice combo here.

Ah yes, tungsten white balance with a polarizer for the fail. I do like the doorway though:

I have done the tungsten WB....

But never with a polarizer... that is truly going the extra mile for the fail

Don't try Ortons with a one-touch zoom...

The fences (4 thick in some angles), posts and palm trees were a bitch all day long. The straw-hat man was the tops.
