This is my best BIF so far, I wish the wire wasn't there but the Hawk was perched on the wire and just jumped off. This was shot with my 55-300 at 1/1250, f7.1, ISO200. I was driving down a road and seen it up there, I hooked left into the other lane and shot through the open passenger window (no traffic was coming).

Amazing images on this thread!

Here's a shot from this morning. I was focusing on this bird on a branch but just as I was about to press the shutter he took off. I followed and got an underexposed BIF shot. In PP I upped the exposure heavily and reduced the noise the best I could.
I like that shot Oula, the wings look translucent

I've not done much shooting lately, but was out down by the river this afternoon and caught this guy.

Shot with Sigma 70-300mm at 300mm f11 1/1000s, ISO800.

I posted this one in Minimalism but I think it might also belong here too!

Migrating tundra or trumpeter swans...not sure which ones:

I was trying to shoot the houses on Dog Island, which was about 3 miles away.

Thanks Tom. I liked the wings too. It looks almost sharp in this resolution but the bigger version is not that impressive

This Eastern Bluebird is a little small compared to most of the birds here

Great shot! You can actually get rid of the wire fairly easily in PP, with decent results. Here's a quick attempt using the "Smart remove" feature in GIMP (similar to the content-aware fill in the new photoshop version). Hope you don't mind!

Thanks, nice job on that wire removal.

OK in my sights

3 on a Path

Not a BIF guy at all but do love to shoot photos . The tree in first shot was just full of birds that kept coming in for landing in front of me.

As requested...

Taken with a Tamron 100-300mm and post processed a bit.
Aberrations aside, this might be the sharpest image of a bird in flight I have ever taken with this lens.
