Haven`t shot too many birds or BIF`s lately but last month I had a go at the annual murmuration of European Starlings. These shots were captured in 2 different locations over a period of 2-3 weeks because the birds weren`t really cooperative (short and low flying).

Thank you! Allthough it took a lot of preparation, travel and some disappointment at times, it was real fun to do. Next year again

Anytime you go to a tourist attraction, there are going to be seagulls.

Thanks
Yes, that big guy (eurasian sparrowhawk) was a real bonus, it was a good thing I had the 300mm on.

#3 is a really good shot. All I ever get is the tail feathers as it flies away.

Thanks. I thought about cloning out the little bit of tail on the right side of the head but I don't like to interfere too much with the original shot.

Yeah but I know how tough it is to catch one in flight...I've only managed it once...

Female Woodduck apparently looking for a spot to nest. I watched her check out 3 spots close to where I was sitting before the pair was spooked. A few seconds later a Red Shouldered Hawk flew by behind them...

The male doing a fly by a few minutes later

Crow. Another bird I've tried to get in flight a bunch of times, this is one of the best yet

Pileated Woodpecker flying through at about the same spot on a foggy morning a couple of weeks ago

You have to be lucky, find a place where they go and use the fastest burst you can. You might get lucky. It's hard enough to get them sitting still.
