Wow - great shots! Caspian terns!

I heard there was a bunch of them at Skjern Enge, but we didn't find a chance to go there... envious!

We really should!

Well, today we could have met at Kølsen Enge, where my husband was guiding a bird trip. The purpose was looking for osprey migration, and we got lucky!

What are the odds of a picture of a stork in Denmark on PF? It requires both a stork and a Pentaxian - one in a trillion?
Hello Keld! Well, I don't know about that: Storks might not be getting more common in Denmark, but I think I am meeting an increasing number of Danish pentaxians! That's encouraging!

Ulfborg, is it? Looks like most of us in here are from Jutland as well.

We do have regular storks in my area, but mostly roaming juveniles. Two years ago, a pair settled on a nest close to where we live, but they arrived too late to breed - last year only the male returned, and this year we only got a brief visit from this young stork - it took a good look at the lack of insects and small rodents in our landscape, and fled back south.

Yep, it was coming in for a landing and realized the spot was occupied, so a dance ensued!

I got this one too today: One BIF causing a great lot of BIFs when a white-tailed eagle made all the geese and ducks take flight

Thank you Erik!

Yes, I think the migration is well under way - we had an estimated 12 ospreys today (7 is the low estimate - just in case some of them did really big circles to attempt getting counted twice...)

Here's another one from today. The light is a bit trickier, but I like the look it was sending me.

2 couples with 8 juvenile storks this year - PF members map shows 18 Pentaxians in Dk (there are more), we are not outnumbered yet
Yes, Ulfborg - my hope is to see some of the wolfes in the area, preferably when I have my camera with me.

That would be the ultimate wildlife photography in Denmark! I hope they stay alive for you to get lucky. Several of my friends report having heard shots after sunset at Stråsø - and they don't mean the sound of camera shutters I'm afraid.
