thank you Rod! bif is not a simple task as most depends on luck of them flying close enough to capture.....

Of all the lenses, this was taken with the D-FA 100mm f/2.8 WR Macro.
Background: When I choose a lens for the single-in challenges, I typically take only one lens with me on beach walks... this forces me to use said lens, and attempt things I might not have attempted otherwise! I think it works (just about)!

I spent ages trying to get a bohemian waxwing BIF. But they are very, very annoying birds: Whenever they DO take off, they do so very randomly, with no warning what so ever, and they never, ever fly in a straight line or keep in the same focus plane as their neighbours!

I am convinced they did it just to annoy me. This is the best I managed - barely BIFs, and look at all the weird angles! (I blame the high alcohol content of the fermeted berries)
Also a bit overprocessed to retrieve details from the shadows. It's November. We have NO daylight.
