Playing around with the camera...

...and software included with my Galaxy Tab A a couple Halloweens ago. I did 30 or so self portraits that got increasingly further afield using props like vampire teeth, eclipse glasses and a skull mask while pushing all the “sliders to the right”, if I may coin a phrase. This is a mild one.

Very cool "realistic-sketch" result. I'm impressed

An idle mind is the devil’s playground.

This is what you get when you encourage me.

Cheap thrills:
1) Inverted vampire teeth and repetitive applications of facial smoothing.
2) I bought a skull mask for the gruesome twosome shot.
3) Put on the skull mask, got out the Ouiji board and pushed all the effects sliders to the right.

It was fun but I don’t think I can replicate any of the effects.

PS: I do have a Flickr page up that I think works as I’m still learning my way around it now. Just two albums up, self-portraits and Pets in monochrome.

Oh... the DA14! How you find it? Any shots to see of it from you yet?

For selfies here's what you do. Use Live View mode, use a small infra-red wireless remote (I use this one), set the focus to 'Face Detection' (which is actually Eye Detection but that's another story for another day), hit the AF button first (keep an ear out for the AF confirmation button) then hit the shutter button. Works flawlessly every time.
Dude! I have been all over my new camera in the last year. Bought the E book. Drank the Kool-Aid... I did not know there is a face capture mode for the camera. It's not where I would think to look in the menu but sure as hell I put the k-1 in live view and hit the AF button.... hush my puppies. : ) Thank you for pointing this out. Using my iPhone as a remote trigger is sub optimal as it is hard to hide and not look at when fireing.

Uff did not need to see that, LOL... this one goes to the spooky thread (there is no spooky thread here though), along with this shot I took a few months ago, featuring some kind of specter within my wine glass...
