Trapeze act beginning at Oshkosh. The trapeze artist had just jumped from the car speeding down the runway to the ladder hanging from the aircraft.

Is that a P2V in the background?

Yeah, Racer, there’s a P2V, an F14 and an EA-6B in the background. The P2V is one of 2 flying in the show. I’ll post a better picture of one of them when I get to it.

Earlier in this thread, I had a picture of a P2V from the EAA show in 1985, with tail number N14835. In June 1998, she was being used by her then current owner, Neptune Aviation Services, to drop fire retardant on a fire in the Gila National Forest, NM, when she crashed, killing her 2 crew members (pilot and copilot).

This picture is of the second P2V flying in the 1985 EAA airshow in Oshkosh, with tail number 145915, just beginning her takeoff roll. She is currently at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum in Reading, PA.

C-54 Skymaster

"Spirit of Freedom" — a Douglas C-54 Skymaster — flew during Thunder Over Michigan in 2014. The aircraft was damaged by a tornado in South Carolina in April 2020, according to an Internet post.
