Was near the Whangarei NZ airport when this aircraft took off possibly Yak11- it is in interesting period appropriate paintwork.
A bit of googling indicates a Russian trainer of about 1940s - K3 and lens I was carrying at the time - 16-85 - and cropped

Further to my image above, I googled the aircraft call sign and it is a Nanchang CJ6 owned by a New Zealander - It is a Chinese made derivative of the Yak.

Wright R-2600-20 Twin Cyclone radial engine on the TBM-3E Avenger (built under license from Grumman) at the Intrepid Air and Space Museum in Manhattan. K-3II and HD DA 16-85mm lens.

Israeli Kfir on the flight deck of the Intrepid Air and Space museum. Note the auxiliary markings for VF-43, from when it was part of the Atlantic Coast Aggressor Squadron. K-3II and FA 16-85mm lens.
