Neat old planes Paul. I always enoy seeing them lovingly cared for, and kept in flying condition.

And now, the Dreamlifter, with an Air Force One 747 in the background.

Hey Racer - the open house is cool since you can poke around in the hangar & talk with the owners/pilots. Nice way to spend the afternoon

Here's a bit of useless info... did you know the it's actually SAM29000, it only becomes Air Force One once the Presidents aboard.

Yes, I knew that. There is actually a fleet of them, but the Gub'mint won't let on just how many.

I've hauled many parts for them. Wing pieces to and from one of the maintenance places at Offut Air Force base in Nebraska and from McConnell Air Force base in Kansas to the companies that rebuild those parts. Thrust reversers to ad from both of those places to a place in Hot Springs Arkansas that rebuilds those pieces.

I even picked up a full set of tires at the Michelin factory in North Carolina and delivered them to Andrews Air Force base near DC.

The guys there gave me a sack full of Presidential M&M's.

Each Prez has something that is his favorite. With Regan i was Jelly Bellies, and you may recall there was always a jar on his desk.

With the current Prez it is peanut M&M's. They have them everywhere. And the guys that do maintenance at Andrews asked me if I like Peanut M&M's and when I said, "Sure!" they loaded me up with a trash sack full of them.

The candy coating is red, white and blue.

Oh, and the Prez has been called many things, but you are the first to call him a broad!

Oops typo, should have read aboard, well it does now.

Pretty cool Presidential Peanut M&Ms, not many folk will have access to them, they must be quite rare and sought after to collectors and you've got a sack load.

Sadly no, I think the last British Airways flight was 34th October 2003 and last Air France flight was a few months earlier 31st May 2003.

There is one at the Museum of Flight at Boeing Field in Seattle. I remember when it was a big deal because they could not go supersonic over the US, and even if they did they had such dirty exhaust that the EPA would only let them fly in and out of La Guardia.

Sorry about the quality but Picasa doesn't render them very well. They look much better in LightRoom. I wonder if Picasa has a poor Pentax file converter.

Not of a plane but from a plane.

Clarke Field, Seattle, in Aug 2011 from the nose of a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress.

Would that be this B-17?

No, this one. Regrettably, all my images that day are very noisy. I'd forgotten to reduce the ISO back down from 1600. I was shooting with my old *istD wasn't that good at high ISO.
