EAA Airshow 1985

Here are some shots from the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) airshow at Oshkosh in 1985. All were taken with a Pentax ME (50mm ƒ/1.8) and these are scans of some film negatives taken then.

The first is a picture of the "Confederate Air Force" (now known as the "Commemorative Air Force") B-29 after landing, following its routine. It's one of the last (if not the last) flyable B-29's in existence. The second picture is of the Christen Eagles aerobatic team. The third picture is of a British Airways Concorde supersonic transport. The Concorde was both on ground display and flew in the airshow. For $400 you could ride on the Concorde during its airshow routine and the aircraft flew up to Canada so it could legally go supersonic prior to the beginning of its routine. During its show routine, it actually performed a touch and go (or as the Brit's say: bumps and circuits). The fourth picture is of a F-14 taking off for its routine, and the last picture is of a P-51 owned and flown by the head of the EAA at that time. Enjoy!

Lockheed Hudson. My dad used to repair their engines in the Pacific during WW2.

Allow me to share some of my airplane shots - way back in 2006 in Longmont, Colorado. Was an unforgettable experience and I'm really enjoying the good times with Bryan, my counterpart in US during my yesteryear training. Backing up my pictures and found it under #2006.

Our airport has been closed for a couple of months for runway repaving so I was surprised to see this big helicopter stop by while I was out walking the dog.

Some from the Torbay Airshow 2017. This was only the show's second year, but it seems to have become an annual fixture already. Sitting on the beach looking out over the bay is a great way to watch planes.
