Went to the local airfield to shoot some planes today but ended up shooting bugs because it was so quiet. Got this one though:

While airplanes aren't a regular subject for me to photo, having a seaplane come in for a landing on a lake close to where I am paddling my kayak is a picture asking to be taken. I spent a few days in Long Lake in the Adirondacks camping and fishing. There is a local outfitter there who takes partys in to remote areas by plane and also tourists for sightseeing trips. He came quite close to me on a few occasions and I managed to get a few keepers. It was not easy trying to get the kayak angled right, drop the paddle, pan and shoot. I used a K10D with a Sigma 70-300 for the air shots and a 18-55 for the beach shot. All 3 were shot in AV at f11 and 200 ISO.

This came over an I wasn't expecting it and didn't have time to change my settings so I went with it the way it was. Fortunately, it didn't drop its pay load.

K200d & DA 55-300mm.
