What is this a picture of?

You're going to get five photos, after which it'll be obvious. I'll post one a day. Have fun!

We did have a game like this running sometime back but it seems to have died in the ass.

Anyhoo, i'd say it looks like a ferry tailgate.

Looks like aircraft skin to me, possibly on a wing

Judging by the rust, I'm going to guess the piss flap on a suit of armour.

pop rivets on sheet metal which would not suit the suit of armour description as it would be very uncomfortable for the wearer, so I'll go proctective guard of some unknown piece of plant

I agree with aircraft surface. Looks to be a joint too, so my best guess is an aileron joint.

Dead right. Now here's the second clue. I'm not sure it'll give you much more than the first, so I'll throw in the third clue as well. Anyone know what aircraft?

No clue, but my guess is it either carries bombs or luggage.

Doesn't look like it carries anything anymore from the small part that we've seen of it.

Is it some kind of seaplane?

I think the photos are of some kind of tailgate to load things. I'd say this is from a large cargo plane but not easy to find out from what one.

Not a large cargo plane.

Perhaps if I switch from my FA77 to the DA12-24?

P.S. Photos taken last week.

My initial instinct is to say that this is an older (junked?) jet fighter/interceptor.

The size of the exhaust vs. the fuselage, including the position of the engines with regard to the fuselage is telling. Also, it seems that attached to either side of the engines are wings.

They could be elevators on an airliner, but the fact that the tail extends as far as it does in the photo tells me that they aren't elevators.

Also, the shape and curves of the aircraft tell me that it's an aircraft from around the 50's or 60's. The colours, white with red markings also indicate a USAF or Navy plane.

That's as far as I can tell... no idea beyond that. The closest I can find to that profile is the Gloster Meteor or the Bell Airacomet, but the Meteor's engines don't straddle the fuselage that close.
