Great thread and photos. Abandonments are a favorite of mine, too, particularly since in a former life I was an archaeological geologist. Lots of mystery in abandonments, untold stories about the people who came before. I was cycling up a steep hill on a remote road when I came upon this collapsed house. Gave me an excuse to stop for a breather. Nature is gradually reclaiming the house, but until it's gone entirely, it probably still provides shelter for wild animals and birds. Who built it? Why did the last occupants turn their backs on it? Who knows?

I actually didn't realise how much I shot this kind of thing in China. China is an absolute goldmine for structural decay that has just been forgotten. These were taken in Shenzhen.. 4th richest city in all of China.
