Right-o: I'm in for a dime!
Thank God for the local adjustment brush in LR! Automask helps, but it isn't perfect.
Mostly LR adjustments- one pass in PS3 to create a decent mask to darken the middle hill area with a exposure adjustment layer.
A little bit of "halo-y" effect around some branches- that would be just more precise masking, spent an hour on this anyways, so if this were for production, I would spend more time getting the masking right.
Going for the "golden sunset" effect, specifically retaining the brightness in the foreground and middle distance grass/hilly area, yet deepen the shadows so the trees "pop". As well, I did boost orange and yellow saturation to give a more golden glow, and a bit of introduced vignetting to focus attention on the natural flow in the (I consider amazing) original composition.
