PP Challenge #5 Sept 12 - Sept 19

To start with, I took the liberty of setting up a yahoo email account and Mediafire account with the name Pentaxchallenge. This will make it easier for others to upload their images in future challenges without having to register at Mediafire.

Mediafire Account Log-In Name: pentaxchallenge@yahoo.com
Password: postprocessing

Now, for the business at hand. Here is one of my images that I found a challenge to get just the way I wanted. Give it your magic touch and make it into something special. The challenge will end 1 week from today at 7 PM server time.

Full Size PEF file (11.3 MB): IMGP5053.PEF

Compressed JPEG (1.2 MB): IMGP5053-01B.jpg

Thread sample with no PP besides downsizing.

If you have any trouble downloading, please send my a PM.

A good image to work with, lots of options here, was tempted to go black and white or sepia but went with the "romantic" look!

Making Hay

This subject almost begged me to zoom in on the Haymaker while changing the atmosphere of his workplace.

There must be a couple more brave people out there willing to tackle my "challenging" image.

Have to skip this one Tim. Been a busy and aggravating week so far and no time to put into the challenge. Good luck to all the entries.

Sorry Tim ... was on the road on business for the whole week and didn't get the chance to do anything. Maybe a 1 day extension to the end of Sep 19?

Actually, the ending date should be Sept. 19th, as my starting date in the subject line is one day before I posted the challenge.

Dates should be Sept. 12 - Sept. 19th. You have until I look at them first thing Monday morning.

Sorry.

Well, decided to give another stab- this was a bit more to work with, must say.

I did go sepia and romantic, but more "realistic romantic"- mostly creating the contrast and the play of light, and adding alot of dust and crap in the light. I remember working in hay barns as a kid, and it was always a choking mess in the air! I also "softened" the entire image slightly- mostly through NR in LR, to give it a restored antique photo look.
