My mum just said "a box camera - they weren't uncommon at the time" - but that didn't mean much to me. It's fixed focus, right? Is the B / 72 / 25 shutter time? Any idea what period this one dates from?

Yes, those are the shutter speeds, and it's fixed focus, too.

This one came from my thrift store ... couldn't resist. J

Fixed focus= the original auto focus.
