Funny about those standard red-and-white spring actuated bobbers. My son & I went to a Boy Scout fishing derby at a small, private stocked ponds. Down on my knees at water's edge preparing his line I noticed some of the 6~8 inch fish right in front of me in the water, quite agitated, apparently fixated on my hands. I stretched out my arm holding the bobber in my fingers, and immediately four or five fish began leaping from the water snapping at the bobber, especially the red half. Small wonder that a metal lure, I believe called the "Red Devil," painted red and white, has been standard for more than half a century.
