Ok, my apologies. And keeping things African.

Z for Zulu dancing maidens. ( Zulu's being the dominant ethnic tribe in South Africa)
Don't let the Xhoso here you say that, at least in the Eastern Cape. That D is for Donkey I posted a few pages back was in a Xhosa village.

Ediphone

E is for EDIPHONE, the original office dictation recording machine. With improvements, it remained in production for a very long time.

Blue, so glad to hear that, that you were in my turf. I come from the Eastern Cape, and could even speak a few Xhosa words in my youth.
Statistically the Zulu outnumber the Xhosa by about 3-1. Especially here in Johannesburg they are in great numbers. And of course Kwazulu Natal. From the sound of it, and from some of your pics, I sort of gathered you had visited Africa somewhere. Splendid that you came to SA. Where in the Eastern Cape did you visit?

I spent 3 weeks mostly in Alice and a couple of weekends in PE. I was in J0-burg for a night when I first flew in. I will be back at some point. What part of the Eastern Cape are you from?

(sorry for the hijack folks)

No, not me. That was taken about 20 years ago on slide film. It was another entomologist though. It was just an opportunistic shot and not planned.
