Those are my findings also. And I just found out that it's better to take photos of distant objects rather than things below the plane.

Xeric, again, but useful for getting past this letter.
RollsUp: The problem with looking down is that your looking at and angle through double sheets of plexiglass or similar near-clear plastic. It's even worse in an aquarium where the plexiglass (glass is now very rare) tank walls are thick and horribly distort the image if your lens is angled relative to the front of the tank. It's best to keep the sensor as parallel and as close as possible to any plexiglass window. Curved-surface aquarium tanks are a real IQ killer.
