I-Iridescence- the effect of water and light on the feathers of this drying Darter bird. Despite being piscatorial in its feeding habits, its feathers are not "waterproof" and after a hunting expedition, it has to hang out its feathers to dry for a long period.

Jabbed. Darters are commonly called anhinga or "snake bird" or "water turkey" here, and perch in exactly the posture to dry their feathers. "Anhinga" is apparently derived from the name for this bird used by native people of Brazil and is translated as either "snake bird" or "devil bird"

Lounge, at one of the places we stayed in Kenya. Never foresaw the extraordinary accommodations we were going to have. Traveling around the USA, we almost never stay at such an upscale place except as a special treat, such as one of the big lodges in the national parks, for one or at most two nights.
