E is for elephant

the damaged tusk probably would have protected this elephant from trophy hunters but not from poachers

found in the Ngorongoro Crater Tanzania

[had intended to post as " D is for damaged" but pepperberry farm beat me to "D"]

Jade bird pendant, year zero pus or minus a century, Guanacaste-Nicoya culture, Costa Rica. The previous two I posted might reasonably be seen as a stylized toucan and woodpecker, but this one leaves me head-scratching. Cannot see it as a stylized version of any bird I know. I thought of flamingo because of the apparently bent beak, but SFAIK they don't get anywhere near as far north as Costa Rica.
