E is for Eyes

1 in this case, the bob cat

http://www.defenders.org/bobcat/bobcats

has his squeezed shut because it was sunning itself in the bright sun

experimenting (again) with the K 3 + HD PENTAX-D FA 150-450mm F4.5-5.6 ED DC AW + HD Pentax-DA 1.4x AW Rear Converter

Alternatively we have

E is for the "eye of the tiger"

2 the Sumatran Tiger however has its eyes wide open

K 3 + HD PENTAX-D FA 150-450mm F4.5-5.6 ED DC AW

both found at the Topeka Zoological Park both photographed through glass windows of the enclosures

that and the Supermarine Spitfire won the Battle of Britain

the Hawker Hurricane was developed first, then the Spitfire

according to my research, the Hawker was preferred aircraft to take out the bombers while the Spitfire was preferred to take on the fighters if they had the choice

if I am not mistaken

I would love to see them

Allen,I have been lucky enough to see them in flight several times. They are both beautiful aircraft and the sound is something else,to me the roar of the Rolls Royce Merlin engine is the sound of freedom!Worth mentioning that one of the most successful aircraft of the Second World War, the P51 Mustang, was transformed by the addition of the Merlin engine and Goring was heard to comment that the sight of Mustangs over Berlin signalled that the defeat of Germany was inevitable.

Reportedly Herr Goering, who was a good pilot I think in WW I, made the statement that if Berlin was ever bombed, he could be called Meyer

yes, again based on my research the P 51,.the first fighter with the legs to go with the bombers to Germany and back was very under powered until the Brits licensed the "Merlin" engine so it could be made in the US and put into the Mustang.

Independence (Douglas VC-118), in keeping with the aviation run I didn't have a fighter beginning with an I, so the Independence, Truman's Air Force One.
