Dove Lake, Cradle Valley, Tasmania

For those interested, Cradle Mountain - iconic Tasmanian tourist attraction, which is often pictured mirrored in Dove Lake - is some where in the background. Absolutely invisible to my family when we were there!!

Idaho Hotel, in the "ghost town" of Silver City. The buildings are all privately owned (some perhaps totally abandoned) and the people use them as summer get-aways. The person who owns the hotel takes in guests and serves some meals, including cooking for walk-ins. This building is loaded with curious antiques, nailed to the walls, in display cases, sitting on the floor, everywhere. BTW: Silver City is approached at the end of 13 miles of dirt road, very winding, that climbs several thousand feet. About an hour to get in, a little faster coming out. Within the town, only dirt roads and not five feet of them level.

Mason's Hall in the ghost town of Silver City. It is built straddling a small stream, and inside, the privy is positioned directly above the water. The town has no piped running water and no electricity (except a few personal generators).

Oil lamps. As with the faces of analog watches, instantly recognizable, yet numerous little variations (with analog watches/wrist-watches, the design variations currently in production must be in the hundreds of thousands if not over a million)

most of those would still work with the right oil and the right wicking material

and the " batteries " never run down

but there could be a fire hazard
