Alphabet Race (a very quick game)

Initial Point, Idaho. One of 37 starting points for land survey in the USA, the marker is atop the small volcanic remnant at the end of this road. The little elevation is isolated on flat ground, so it is easy to identify and relocate. We drove to the base, but climbing to the top would have taken more time than we were wiling to allot to see a small, circular piece of metal embedded very firmly in volcanic rock.

Kelly, for whom Kelly's Whitewater Park is a permanent memorial. We and perhaps a bit over a hundred others watched the eclipse here, and if you read the plaque, the irony is: it was her birthday.
