Why do they start flying so early?

Z is for a sea of zinnias
Thanks! There are a couple of reasons for the early flights. First is safety. The air is much more calm in the morning and balloons can't handle much more than a light breeze. The other is that there's more lift when it's cool. The balloons soar because of the difference in density between the warm air inside the balloon and the and cold air outside.

F is for FLY. DOF is such a problem with this kind of close up. The plane of focus here runs through the eye, but it is camera-side of the back end. However, the haltere is in good focus.

M is for MOLLY MALONE, here with her famous wheel barrow peddling fish. It's said that Molly sold merchandise by day and..well...services by night. Some call her the "dish with the fish," or the "tart with the cart," or "the trollop with the scallop." Impossible to know if this statue is even a vaguely realistic likeness.
