Agreed. It could pass for a remnant of a statue from a long-forgotten civilization.

A is for Amur

Amur Leopard

I just learned that this big cat is possibly the rarest animal I have ever seen even though it is at the Kansas City Zoo.

This one is a proven female breeder, and it is a pure bred - this is what makes it so rare, most Amur Leopards in captivity are from lines where a non Amur Leopard was used according to the sources I have found.

reportedly less than 30 - 40 are alive in the wild which is too small of a group genetically to ensure survival of the animal
