Garage - I think that's what this outbuilding originally was. About 20 years back a fire destroyed the 19th century house, killing the owner, a bachelor who had collected many valuable items in his world-wide travels. With no descendants the property has been abandoned ever since. In time, either the town or the commonwealth will presumably seize ownership for unpaid taxes. The single broken board is probably the work of a night-time raider hoping to find forgotten valuables. The owner did have a Mercedes that would have survived the fire, but I don't know what happened to the car.

Oak leaf, usually through of as a dull for Autumn color, but this one is sporting about all the colors of the rainbow short of blue.
