Icicles, curiously shaped by a stream that had been flowing much higher following a warm rain, then a freeze as the water subsided.

Klipspringer. Haven't posted an image of this healthy-looking zoo specimen for a while. I love their dainty elevator-shoe hooves.

M is for Mimram, a local river. Here it is in flood flowing over the road.

I think not so much "gripping" as balancing on very small protrusions, indentations and other irregularities of a rock surface.

Nicobar pigeon again. Took a lot of pictures of these fellows in the zoo's aviary.

Sun Bear Ursus malayanus aka Honey Bear

Sun Bear - Animal Facts and Information

and I would call it a Shar Pei Bear [ The Shar-Pei, is a breed of dog known for its features of deep wrinkles ]

" If a predator were to latch on during a struggle, the sun bear can turn in its loose skin and bite its attacker. " - http://animals.sandiegozoo.org/animals/sun-bear

soon to be placed on exhibit at the Topeka Zoo and Conservation Center

note the positioning of the front paws, as the bear walks,

" They have a distinctive pigeon-toed walk, an adaptation to their arboreal lifestyle. " - http://animals.sandiegozoo.org/animals/sun-bear
