Looks like Chihuly glass. But if you say that to a glass artist, they will turn red faced and chase you out of their shop.

Artists do have a reputation for being temperamental. I guess it's akin to the way some photographers will throw you out if you ask "what lens and camera did you use for that image?"

Umbrella. I suspect this could shed rain as well as a thatched roof, but it hasn't been constructed with quite enough thatch..
