Me too. The design is obviously based on the "Adirondack chair," a proven comfortable design well-suited to porches, decks, lawns, docks. Zigzag, a little more curvy and sinuous than the pattern usually associated with the term "zigzag," but when we need a "Z" image.....BTW: made by some kind of under-the-bark larva, probably a species of beetle.

Bomba's Shack (scan). On the Virgin Islands. Bomba was local character who collected debris along the beaches to construct and reconstruct his shack. He held parties nightly selling, or perhaps requesting donations for drink and food. A happy-go-lucky beloved by everyone. Did he own the property? have a permit to build? have a license to sell? Nobody seemed to know, and definitely no one cared. Picture taken in 1993. Considering time and events, I doubt very much that either this shack or Bomba are still around.
