U is for UNAKITE. This variety of granite is considered semi-precious because the large variegated masses of pink feldspar and green epidote are carved into figurines and polished for jewelry.

And to kick off the race again, here is another Z for ZINC, in this case a mineral called chalcophanite, which contains zinc, manganese, and sometimes iron. It's too uncommon to be a significant ore for zinc or manganese.

A for the Aboriginal Gallery. Vancouver also has a wonderful Museum of Anthropology - I'll have to go back there for a few photos.
