Coming back a strong following wind came up whipping waves high enough to over top the gunwales so we had to keep baling to prevent the canoe from going under completely. It was bale and paddle, touch and go for a while. A bit scary.

This is the one obstacle my two struggle most with. They understand they're meant to do something with it, but can never recall/work out what!

We used to stay at the Paradise Point Cottages at the bottom of the lake (where the picture was taken). We had a few runs back from the upper lake with winds out of the north with similar issues, but at least we were in an aluminum boat. The waves would still break over the stern. Did you ever stop at the Potter Farm on the west shore of the middle cove? Was always a good place to stop to stretch our legs, etc. That's where one of my Rust Never Sleeps shots is from.

I do not recall Potter Farm. We put in along the northwest, I think into the Adroskoggin (Might have been the Magalloway), went across and camped at a spot on the north side of where the Rapid River enters. First, last, only time we were up in that area, and long ago now, sometime in the 1970's.

Two "A" images so we must be at "B" for BOAT
but I'll also take "C" for CLIFFS.

Yea, you were in the upper bay; fairly north of the Potter Farm. Not surprised you didn't run into anyone up there. We did pretty good fishing the mouth of the Magalloway, but never had much luck on the Rapid.
