p.s.I was waiting for the H letter to post a picture from Heraclea Sintica but since there is no publication for G - decided to post for both letters. Heraclea Sintica was really glorious ancient town with almost a thousand years history. From this point Alexander the Great has started his war march to Persia.
Discovery of this town is one of the most important archeological events of 21 century.
There is a legend that the town was named this way by Alexanders Father Philip Macedonian because it was believed there was born the legendary Hero Hercules( Heracles ). The word hero itself origins from Heracles name. ( which is H word too)
